Malpractise and security issues. What do I need to do?

In general we recommend to get in touch with your Dutch Tax and Customs Administration contact if you suspect issues with sending or receiving files through Belastingdienst filetransfer. Review the following options to determine your action in specific cases.

I received files which are not intended for me

Immediately delete the file if downloaded and inform your Dutch Tax and Customs Administration contact about the issue. The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration employee can remove the files from the Belastingdienst filetransfer systems.

I accidentally sent the wrong file or wrong version

Immediately contact the Dutch Tax and Customs Administation employee to whom the file(s) are adressed and explain the situation. Request your contact not to download the file(s) and remove the package and if already downloaded to remove the file(s) from any other location. Reuse the original invitation to send the correct file(s)

In case of sensitive information, follow any procedures your company might have for these situations .

I suspect malpractice and think my contact is involved

Immediately stop all activity regarding download or upload of files and report your suspicion to your Security Officer, manager or company confidant and point them to the information on the following page "Fraude, misdaad en misstanden melden".

I have discovered a security breach

It is possible that you discover a weak spot in our systems. Have you discovered such a weak spot? Determine your actions with the information on the page "Meld datalek, beveiligingslek, zwakke plek of misbruik computersystemen".

Other situations

Discuss the situation with your contact at the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. Inform your Security Officer, manager or company confidant. If you do not have a contact at the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, send an e-mail to filetransfer@belastingdienst.nl or determine your options on the page "Fraude, misdaad en misstanden melden".
